Joanna Merkuria Czerwińska

Joanna Merkuria Czerwińska is an award-winning visual artist and illustrator, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2016). She specializes in two-dimensional work, employing printmaking and drawing techniques. She won the “Trzy/Mam/Książki” competition organized by the Book Institute for her series “Pierwsze obrazy,” published in 2018 by Dwie Siostry Publishing. Her works have been exhibited in cities like Seattle, New York, Wrocław, Kraków, Gdańsk, Warsaw, and Lubaczów. After four years living in the USA, she returned to Warsaw in 2022. Czerwińska focuses on hand-printed graphics, creating colorful, often ironic commentaries on contemporary reality, enriched with subtle elements of black humor. Her work explores themes of repetition and multiplicity.
